FIPS is committed to tracking household income over time. We support individuals in reaching their financial goals — whether that means unlocking the economic potential of their land or business, saving to return to education, or launching an enterprise beyond agriculture.
To measure this progress, FIPS has established a six-level income framework, ranging from Struggling to Excelling. Thriving marks a critical turning point where families build true-long term resilience. While some individuals progress sequentially through every stage, others balance a specific income level alongside other household responsibilities. This framework enables FIPS to codify income transformation across all our target groups — including young agripreneurs, smallholder farmers, and VBAs. The personas featured below serve as archetypes to illustrate what each income level looks like across different contexts; they are exemplary models rather than profiles of real individuals.
